Amidst cow pastures and desolate roads just outside of Dallas a deafening roar can be heard emanating from a room the size of a bathroom stall. Inside that room Word to the Wise is pouring their soul out. With thunderous breakdowns and vocals both soaring and guttural, the group writes music that is based on their experiences and is relatable to others. Influenced by the likes of Attila, Thy Art is Murder, and In Hearts Wake the group refuses to hold back in the brutality of their work while also being unafraid to delve into the more positive aspects of life.
The group has cultivated in a sound that has been reverberating in venues and banging heads across the DFW metroplex impressing its will upon everyone in its wake. Since their first show in February 2014, the band has already begun turning heads with their live shows. They have won multiple “Battle of the Bands” going up against up and coming acts of all genres in the Dallas and Fort Worth scenes. They have also been featured by local promotional groups the Dallas Metal Scene and Ghostlight Concerts in addition to opening for Suffokate’s July 2014 show in Fort Worth. Industry professionals on Music Xray rated their first recorded song “What Would Tosh Do.O?” in the top 97% of all submitted music supporting the great response their music has received with each live performance.
With a high quality recording completed in 2014 for their four song debut EP and rapidly increasing exposure the momentum the Word to the Wise is carrying is palpable. To sustain this push the band will continue to play the Dallas-Fort Worth area with both local and national shows leading up to the release of the debut EP in 2015. At that time the group will embark out to the surrounding areas taking their music to a wider audience throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana while also building an online presence geared towards a more widespread audience.
