Michael G. Hawkins, a Virginia native, performs a combination of soul-stirring gospel and jazz music on the flute. He has had a wide range of experiences during his musical career which include various engagements such as weddings, fashion shows, private parties, and community/church-related events.
So far, this year Michael G. Hawkins performed on the local television show called, “Virginia This Morning” to promote his performance at a local restaurant. He also performed at other church/civic-related venues. He also interviewed for a local cable television show.
In September, 2014, Michael G. Hawkins was interviewed on the Bill Miller Show, a syndicated radio program that can be heard throughout the United States. During that same year, Michael G. Hawkins participated with RAW Natural Born Artists, an international organization that features and promotes talent. He has performed at up and coming venues like the Hippodrome in Richmond, VA, local restaurants, and charity benefits. Also, he performed on a local television show called, "Virginia This Morning."
During the year 2010, Michael G. Hawkins was the featured soloist in several events. One memorable event included, "An Evening of Elegance" which was theme for the 125th anniversary of a local Baptist church. His musical selections enhanced the pride and cheerfulness of that occasion.
Michael G. Hawkins was the featured soloist for a weekly jazz concert summer series in historic downtown Richmond, VA in the year 2009. Also, he participated in the opening ceremony for the Pre-K Program in the Richmond Public Schools during that same year. The theme of this event was, "Spreading the Feeling and Meaning of Peace and Happiness" which was presented to the faculty and parents. The positive feedback was humbling; and, he intends to utilize his God-given talent to bless others.
Finally, two additional events he speaks of with pride involve performing with a group that was the opening act for gospel recording superstar, Ms. Shirley Caesar and visiting the country of Switzerland where he had the opportunity to perform for an audience filled with individuals from many areas worldwide.”
