Bringing to Earth a New Paradigm
Sankarshan Das Adhikari is a singer/songwriter/visionary musically rooted in the folk/acoustic music revival of the mid 60's from his days when he performed at Houston's legendary folk music venue, Sand Mountain, the spawning ground of many musical greats.
Frustrated with the deteriorating world situation, he desired to bring to Planet Earth a spiritual revolution. Looking for the proper venue, in 1968 he hitchhiked 2,000 miles to San Francisco where he devoted himself full time to writing and singing songs for bringing higher consciousness to the world. In San Francisco's Golden Gate Park at the celebrated Polo Fields concert on May 7, 1969 he performed a set between the Grateful Dead and the Jefferson Airplane eliciting roars of approval from the audience of thousands and a prediction by the emcee of his imminent fame.
Seeking a more peaceful atmosphere after experiencing an increase of violence on the West Coast, he thumbed and strummed, serenading his drivers making them smile, to Austin, Texas in 1970 and became an instant campus sensation with his daily free concerts on the South Mall of the University of Texas by the statue of George Washington. The Daily Texan newspaper published a major article about him called "Minstrel Serenades Students." Two students were interviewed and quoted in the article. A female student said, “That’s the happiest, most optimistic person I’ve ever heard." And a male student who was sitting beside her said, “Yes. It sort of makes you feel real good.” After his free concert series on the UT campus he moved on to become the house musician at the Sattva vegetarian restaurant located one block west of the campus.
In spite of his increasing popularity, he realized that more important than pursuing name and fame would be finding and spreading that message which would completely revolutionize the global society. Therefore, in 1971 putting his music career aside, he embarked upon a four-and-half decade's journey of self-discovery traveling all over the world soaking up wisdom from the world's greatest luminaries/visionaries.
Now having gained the asset of world-liberating knowledge, he is bringing an entirely new genre of enlightening, and uplifting music for healing a rapidly disintegrating, turbulent, and tormented world. He now circles the globe twice a year sharing his loving message music in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia with all those who are eager to hear.
