El MALEANTE (Born Rogelio Roy Gorin, February 24, 1973), is a Panamanian Reggae/ Reggaeton singer-songwriter, and recording artist. Rogelio was born in Colon, Panama and moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of eight years old with his parents.
In 1991, El Maleante recorded his first single song called “Mueve Mueve” under VP Records studio.
In 1992, El Maleante started work on the first production of Spanish Reggae Hits Vol 1, an album produced by the Jamaican producer Karl Miller, promoting songs such as “Quiero Bailar” and “Ensena tu Corazon” as the basis of its music.
In 1993, He composed songs such as “Yo Hablo Alrevez”, “Cuida tu Cuerpo”, “Tu amor”, produced by Phillip Smart, and later used in the second reggae album titled Spanish Reggae Hits Vol. 2
In 1994, he makes his first international appearance, to be present in the recording and production of Spanish Reggae Hits. Songs from the album gained so much success and ranking top positions in digital sales in Puerto Rico, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Colombia.
The name of “El Maleante” was given while collaborating in the recording studio on the album “Muevelo con El General” with heavyweight artist “El General”.
In his musical career, has shared stages in United States, Puerto Rico, and in Latin America with several important Puerto Rican Reggaeton such as “El General”, “Nando Boom”, “Vico C”, “Nick Jam”, “Falo”, “Ivy Queen”, “Daddy Yankee”, “O.G Black” and others.
In 2015, El Maleante continues to innovate and recently recorded "No Me Digas que No", “Candela” “No Eres Feliz” with a difference in style, mixing reggae with R & B beats.
